Our journey in real estate began in the 1970’s with our founding director and current chairmain, Kerry Armstrong. His proud legacy of service excellence and long-lasting relationships has led us to continuing that vision almost 50 years later. Currently under the leadership of Ben Armstrong and David Sheppard, we are Bromley Real Estate.

1977

  • Kerry Armstrong became the Sales Manager of Curry & Mooney Real Estate, where he was responsible for developing Moss Street and The Big Gunn.

1991

  • Ben Armstrong joined LJ Hooker Springwood, focusing on selling and leasing commercial real estate.

1999

  • Early in the year, LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane Southside commenced operations under the leadership of directors Kerry Armstrong and Don Neale. The office was located at 3360 Pacific Hwy, Springwood, and the team consisted of seven staff members. In December, Ben Armstrong began his role as a Commercial Property Manager, joining a property management team of two.

2003

  • Ben Armstrong and Dirk Long became joint shareholders and directors alongside Kerry Armstrong.

2004

  • LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane was purchased, establishing an office at 100 Eagle Street, Brisbane.

2005

  • The office achieved the status of the number one commercial office in Australia. In September, the Financial Services division was launched.

2006

  • Recognised again as the number one commercial office in Australia, and in April, David Sheppard joined LJH Commercial Brisbane.

2007

  • The office was recognised as the number one commercial office in Australia. In December, premises were purchased at 2996 Logan Rd, Underwood, and LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane commenced operations.

2008-2012

  • The office maintained its status as the number one commercial office in Australia.
  • Business Broking services were launched.

2013

  • The office achieved recognition as the number one commercial office in the Northern Territory and Queensland.

2014

  • The office was recognised as the number one Commercial Office in the Northern Territory and Queensland. In December, the Portal was sold, and the office moved to its current location at 3370 Pacific Hwy.

2015-2022

  • It maintained its status as the number one Commercial Office in the Northern Territory and Queensland.
  • Residential services for the City were launched.

2023

  • The office was awarded the International Champion Office Runner-Up title and continued to be recognised as the number one Commercial Office in the Northern Territory and Queensland.

2024

  • In January, David Sheppard joined LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane as a Director and Shareholder.
  • In February, Kerry Armstrong was inducted as a Fellow Member of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland.
  • In July, the company rebranded to Bromley Real Estate.
  • The current staff count is 32.

Ben Armstrong

Over almost four decades in the industry, Ben has set several benchmark sales results across industrial, retail and office markets throughout Brisbane and Queensland. After studying Property Valuation at the University of Queensland, Ben has overseen the growth of the business, which today manages over $1bn in property assets for investors.

Brisbane born and raised, David’s experience has spanned residential and commercial property, including stints in leadership roles in agencies and state-owned QIC’s Retail Leasing division, where he was Leasing Manager overseeing a portfolio of retail assets down the eastern seaboard. Kerry Armstrong

Kerry is one if the stalwarts of Brisbane’s real estate industry, taking on his first agency role in 1977. Kerry has been responsible for several influential deals, including Aldi’s purchase of its first Queensland distribution centre. Today, Kerry mentors the specialists across Bromley Real Estate’s sales, leasing, asset management divisions.
